WRAPPED

The good, the bad and the ugly……..

My dearest readers,

I know you haven’t heard from me in a while. My sincerest apologies. I know you’ve missed me (or not). Either way, i was busy wrapping up with my procastination skills.

As Spotify wrapped took over our social media feeds, I couldn’t help but think: what if our entire year was wrapped up like a neatly packaged present? Well, let’s unwrap the chaos that was 2024 and take a look at how we spent our 365 days.

We began the year with grand promises to ourselves: “This year will be different” “I’ll save money” “I’ll eat healthy”.But let’s be real, how many of us actually stuck to our resolutions?

Some of us planned to save for rainy days, but somehow the rainy days started the very next day. Our wallets were like, “Not again”.

Others screenshoted outfits, shoes and accessories, but somehow none of them made it to the “Purchased” folder. Our carts were like, ” You’ve got a great taste but not so great at checking out”.

Then there’s me, I vowed to start gyming this year, and I did… for a whole two weeks! I was determined to get that beach body, but my bed had other plans. It was like, “No, no, no! You don’t have to ” And I was like, “Okay, bed. You win.

I mean, who needs gains when you can have Netflix and a comfy blanket? My fitness journey was short-lived but my talent for doing absolutely nothing for hours on end is still impressive.

Look at David, he planned to buy a Benz, but it’s December and the only Benz he could afford was a “Legediz Benz”.

And then there’s Emmanuel, who vowed to read 50 books this year. But it turns out, the only book he read was the “Book of Excuses”

Sarah planned to start a yoga practice, but her flexibility only went as far as bending to reach the remote control.

As we bid farewell to 2024, let’s take a moment to reflect on the wild ride that was. It was a year that felt like a never-ending couple’s pandemic – every time you scrolled through social media, there was another pair suffocating the singles with their lovey-dovey posts

Amidst all the chaos, we found solace in our favorite slangs. Who can forget “delulu,” “Tpain,” “demure,” “steeze,” “composure,” and all the other juicy terms that spiced up our conversations?

And then, of course, there was the economic rollercoaster. The dollar kept rising, prices skyrocketed, and our wallets cried out in agony. But we survived, didn’t we? Infact we need a certificate of survival.

As I look back on the year, I’m reminded of the ups and downs we all faced. There were laughs and tears, triumphs and setbacks. But through it all, I’ve learned that the greatest gifts are life and growth.

Yes, growth! Whether or not you achieved everything you set out to do this year, take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come. You’ve learned new things, unlearned old habits, and are living in one of your answered prayers.

So as we close the chapter on 2024, let’s be grateful for the journey. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you didn’t tick every box on your to-do list. Just do your best, pray to God, and trust that everything will work out for your good.

Remember, growth is a journey, not a destination. As we step into the unknown, let’s hold onto hope, faith and knowledge that we’re stronger than we think.

Thanks for riding the waves of 2024 with me. See you in 2025.

Till i write again, it’s bye for now.

Thank you for reading……
