Great Nigerians! I greet thee………
How’s the grandpa on the throne treating you all ? We can see the administration has brought bags of ewa (beans) and agbado ( corn). I hope it has been distributed evenly. I also hope that the rice, oil, and the enormous thirty thousand naira you were given before the election is still available. Infact, i am certain that it is.
Prior to commencing this word party, it is my pleasure to welcome you all with open arms and a hearty hello. I hope you are feeling amiable and receptive to my witty repartee and greetings. Now let this word party begin…..

I remember the 2023 general elections like it was just yesterday. The hullabaloo, campaigns, vote buying and manifestos everywhere. Personally, i don’t have interest in politics but i followed the news back to back ( like the way some people’s village people follow them). I was anticipating the results of the general elections and ofcourse like every other citizen, i was hoping for a free and fair election where the votes of people would count. The question is ; Was the election truly free and fair ?
It is no suprise that the self acclaimed ‘Jagaban Of Lagos’ won the elections. He was so confident and convinced of his victory even before the elections. With his ‘Emilokan speech’, we were promised the abundance of ewa (beans) and agbado (corn) and now he’s in office, the prices of these things have gone up. Our dear president who has a thing for tasting microphones promised us a whole lot. It’s almost a year of his administration and truly, he has done so much. Infact, we have seen and are going through a lot.
His administration has brought a lot of growths like the steady rise of dollar against the naira. The dollar has invaded our economy like a devious bandit, sowing seeds of financial turmoil while we sleep. No matter how early we rise, the dollar is already up and wreaking havoc on our savings. The prices of things have doubled, food stuffs and every other thing you can think of. The most outrageous is the prices of phones . If you love yourself now, you would hold your phone tight because the stealing, armed robbery and other social vices have now become rampant.

It seems like Nigerian democracy is more like a slapstick comedy than a well-oiled machine. From voter fraud to the stealing of ballot boxes during elections, it is clear that the country’s democratic process is in need of a makeover. Despite the efforts of the people, ( when i mean the people, i mean those who haven’t sold their birthrights and know what is right), it seems that the system is rigged. With corruption running rampant, it’s hard to see a way out of the mess.
These are difficult times for many Nigerians, and it’s important to be mindful of the stress and worry everyone could be experiencing. Many are facing tough economic realities and the prospect of rising prices without a corresponding increase in wages and salary is a great source of concern. In times like these, it’s important to show empathy and understanding, rather than engaging in pranks or any behaviour that might be percieved as insensitive. A little consideration and kindness can go a long way towards helping people feel supported and understood. Let’s all do our part to make this a time of comapassion rather than a time of pranks.

Hopefully, everything will get better and if it doesn’t, we must not give up. We must continue to work tirelessly to create a better future for our children. Together we can fight bad governance and corruption. We are all in this together and together we can make a difference . Let us work to create a brighter future for Nigeria.
And until i write again, bye for now…….
